Obituary for John "Pop" Latini
John “Pop” Latini, 83, passed away March 19, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center with his family by his side.
Born on March 27, 1938 the son of Bennie and Amelia Lattanzi Latini, he was educated in Pittsfield schools.
He married the former Carol A. Hood on May 25, 1957 at Mount Carmel Church. They would have celebrated their 65th anniversary this May.
Mr. Latini was a United States Airforce Veteran, having served from 1955 to 1959.
He was a cook for many years at Teddy’s Pizza house and most recently at Mama Mia’s Pizzaria. He had been employed for 13 years at Greylock Plastics.
An avid Red Sox fan he especially enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Mr. Latini is survived by his wife Carol Latini. Two sons, John Latini, Jr., and Samuel Latini, both of Pittsfield. Three daughters, Sandra Maiorano and husband John of Pittsfield, Theresa Latini of Pittsfield, Tammie Rowe and husband James of Boca Raton, FL. Brother, Ben Latini and wife Delores of Pennsauken, NJ. Sister, Susan Bilis and husband Teddy of Pittsfield. Eight grandchildren, Timothy Latini (Jamie), Cara Maiorano, Matt Maiorano (Amy), Andrew Latini, Shaunna Latini, Patrick Latini, Natasha Latini, and Genese Latini. As well as seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Frances.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to American Diabetes Association in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
