Obituary for John J. Drury

John Joseph Drury, 73, of Pittsfield died October 27, 2015. He was the son of James Drury and Anna Catherine Mullen Drury. John was born on March 29, 1942 in Pittsfield. He attended Pittsfield High School and he went on to serve in the Navy. John was a first-generation Irishman, and he was very proud of his heritage.
John married Thelma Decker on April 28, 1962 and they shared 52 wonderful years together until Thelma died in 2014.
John spent the majority of his career working for GE's Power Transformers Department. He was very active in IUE 255, District 2.
John was devoted to our Berkshire community and was an active member and leader in the following organizations: The Jimmy Fund, UNICO, The Onota Fishing Club, The East Side Mens Club, and The Elks Club. Over the years, John received awards and honors for his volunteerism.
John is survived by his two sons, Joseph John Drury Sr., and wife Holly; Timothy David Drury, and wife Jodi. Other survivors include his Grandchildren, Joseph Drury Jr. (Lauren), Jennifer Bennett (Christopher Sr.), Zilion Santos and Zenani Santos; Great Grandchildren Ciana & Christopher Jr. Bennett and Milo and Linus Drury. John was predeceased by his two brothers, James and Thomas.

Funeral Notice: Calling hours for John J. Drury will be at DERY FUNERAL HOME 54 Bradford St. on Sunday, November 1st from 12-2PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Berkshire County Jimmy Fund.
