Obituary for John Clayton Pierce

John Clayton Pierce, “Papa John,” age 65, passed away in the early morning of January 31st, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 17, 1956 in Pittsfield, MA to the beloved Paul and Mary (Laughran) Pierce.

He grew up with his two older brothers, Paul and Dave Pierce, and his younger sister, Patricia, “Patty,” Kampmeier. John was educated in the Pittsfield school system.

He had a successful career as a highly skilled plumber working many years for LeProvost Plumbing and Ed Krell Plumbing.

Papa John was a loving father to his two sons, John and Scott Pierce and he deeply adored his six grandchildren, Bailee, Cloey, Alexandra, Jaiden, Anthony, Veliana and three great-grandchildren, Avery, Chayse, and Mariah. He loved being around people and enjoyed the company of his family and friends.

John will be greatly missed as Vice President of the Moonshine Mafia.

He is survived by his children and their families, his siblings, and many nieces and nephews.

To honor his life and memory, calling hours will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield.
