Obituary for Joann E. Moran
Joann E. Moran, 60, of Wingate at Melbourne, formerly of Dalton, died Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Williamstown Commons following a short illness.
Born in Pittsfield on April 3, 1960, daughter of Eugene D. and Sarah P. Scanlon Moran, she was a graduate of Wahconah Regional High School and of Berkshire Community College.
Miss Moran devoted her entire working career to the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services where she was a Developmental Service Worker. She retired in October 2020 with thirty years service.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church.
Miss Moran is survived by three brothers, Thomas M. Moran of Pittsfield, John M. (wife Sharlene) Moran of Centerville, Mass., and Dennis P. Moran (wife Patty) Moran of Londonderry, N.H.; a sister-in-law, Cathy (late husband, Michael) Moran of Acushnet, Mass., and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Michael E Moran, late of Fairhaven, Mass.
Joann’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Roy sisters and to Nancy, her special friends, who have supported her throughout Joann’s illness. Also, special thanks to Sharlene and John who have coordinated her health care and retirement planning since the beginning of her illness.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Joann E. Moran will be private with burial to be in Ashuelot Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
