Obituary for Joann C. George

JOANN CALLY GEORGE, 81, of 57 Bay State Road, Pittsfield, died Thursday morning at Hillcrest Commons where she had been a patient since May 4.
Born in Pittsfield, January 31, 1926, a daughter of John W. and Hariclia Blanos Cally, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. George had been employed as an administrative assistant for the
former E.D.Jones for many years.
She was a member of St. George The Tropaiophoros Greek Orthodox Church. Her husband, Nicholas P. George, died March 28, 1991.
Mrs. George is survived by a daughter, Leah J. Dreves of British, Columbia;
a brother, William Cally of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Geri Archambault of Syracuse,
New York, and Stella Gallaher of Houston Texas; three grandchildren, and her
companion, George Trahanas.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for JOANN CALLY GEORGE, who died Thursday, May 10,
will be held Monday, May 14, at 12:30 p.m., from the Dery Funeral Home, with the
funeral to be at 1:00 p.m., at St. George Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Harry
Vulopas, Pastor of Holy Trinity Church in Holyoke, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service from 11:30 to 12:30 at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. George may be made to The Christian Center in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
Mrs. George, who is remembered as a lady who touched people's hearts
with unconditional love and generosity, also leaves her three grandchildren,
Nicholas, T.J., and Pano, several nieces and nephews, and her loving companion, George Trahanas.
