Obituary for Joan J. Froio

JOAN JULIA FROIO, 90, formerly of 784 North Street, Pittsfield, died Tuesday
morning at Hillcrest Commons where she had resided the past three and a half years.
Born in Lee, May 6, 1917, a daughter of Herbert and Julia R. Cripps Sagendorph,
she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Froio was employed as a secretary at General Electric Company for 25 years
retiring in 1985.
She was a communicant of St. Mary the Morning Star Church. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Her former husband, Rocco R. Froio, died in 1975.
Mrs. Froio is survived by a son, Richard P. Froio of Pittsfield; a daughter, Patricia A. Convery-DeGroat of Pittsfield; a brother, Joseph N. Sagendorph of Albany, Georgia;
a sister, Margaret S. Reynolds of Richmond; eight grandchildren, seven great grand- children; and five great great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a son, Joseph R. Froio, and a grandson, Richard J. Martin.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for JOAN JULIA FROIO, who died Tuesday,
November 20, will be Monday, November 26, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mark Church, celebrated by Rev. John C. Salatino, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Froio may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield
Mrs. Froio is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Penna Froio, and son-in-law, Richard DeGroat. She was pre-deceased by brothers, Edward Sagendorph,
Herbert Sagendorph, Alfred Sagendorph, and William Sagendorph, and sisters, Gladys
Stamell and Marjorie Sagendorph.
