Obituary for Jeffrey Adams Michalski

Jeffrey Adams Michalski, 48, ended his struggle with addiction at home on February 16, 2021. A 1990 graduate of Pittsfield High School, Jeff earned a B.A. in political science at Assumption College in 1994, and an M.A. in public policy at American University in 1996. He subsequently pursued graduate work in Polish language and culture at the University of Warsaw. Jeff, who was an excellent writer, worked in the 1990s as a text editor for the Lithuanian Embassy in Washington, DC. He later invested in and managed real estate in Warsaw before returning to the United States for good in 2018.

Jeff was quiet, gentle, unpretentious, bright, witty, somewhat shy, and dependable. He was also throughout his life exceptionally generous, decent, and loving. His passing came far too soon. He will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and who now grieve his leaving this life for a better place.

Jeff was the son of the late Walter V. Michalski, his mother Joy M. Cameron, and William J. Cameron, of Pittsfield. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Sophie and Walter Michalski, and his maternal grandparents June and Earl Adams. He is survived by his sister, Holly L. DiGrigoli (Matthew) of Lanesborough, Mass.; his brother, Andrew M. Cameron (Rocío Gordon), of Newport News, Va.; his nieces and nephews Zachary W. DiGrigoli (Delaney), of Jarrell, Tex., Emma J. DiGrigoli, Sophie E. DiGrigoli, and Alexander M. DiGrigoli, all of Lanesborough; his grandnieces Lewelyn and Annalise DiGrigoli, of Jarrell, Tex.; and by several cousins. Jeff is also survived by his great and steadfast friend, John Wendling, of Lenox, Mass.

A private burial service will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a time of the family’s choosing. A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held in the late spring.
