Obituary for Jeffrey John Gilmartin Hanford

Jeffrey John Gilmartin Hanford, 48, of 19 Maud Street, Pittsfield, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on May 24, 1967, a son of John D. and Carol Lemire Hanford, he was a
1986 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mr. Hanford was a self-employed carpenter for more than twenty years. He retired in
2006 due to ill health. He had also worked for CAS, Inc. and for Richard Marchand Carpentry.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
Jeff was loyal to his family, his friends, and his animals. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and cars.
Mr. Hanford leaves his wife, the former Laurie Laterreur, whom he married May 22,
1993.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his mother, Carol Lemire Hanford and her fiancé Richard Olsted of Dalton; his father, John Hanford and his wife, Candice of Pittsfield; three sons, Ryan Hanford of Pittsfield, Brady Hanford of Hancock, and Brandon Hanford of Hancock; a daughter, Rachel Hanford of Pittsfield; a granddaughter, Dakota Hanford of Pittsfield; two sisters, Heather Hanford Fallon of Pittsfield and Holly Hanford of Pittsfield; a brother, Greg Hanford of Pittsfield; his mother-in-law, Carol Laterreur and his father-in-law, Clement Laterreur, both of Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was pre-deceased by his grandparents, William and Helen Gilmartin Hanford and
Robert and Gertrude Lemire.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Jeffrey John Gilmartin Hanford will be held Friday, October 7, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church celebrated by Rev. Peter M. Naranjo, Parochial Vicar. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in
Pittsfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pittsfield Co-Operative Bank
to assist the family with Jeffrey's funeral expenses.
