Obituary for jean Smith Provencher

Jean Phyllis (Smith) Provencher, age 71, of Day Street, died Friday afternoon, June 17, 2016 at Berkshire Medical Center. She was born on January 25, 1945 in Pittsfield, the daughter of the late Fred and Dorothy Foley Smith. She was educated in Pittsfield schools.
Primarily she was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Jean married Robert E. Provencher, Sr; he died on December 17, 1997.
Mrs. Provencher is survived by her three sons: Steven F. Smith of Pittsfield, Robert E. (and Shelley) Provencher, Jr. of Pittsfield, and Thomas R. (and Melissa) Provencher of Pittsfield; her daughter: Tammy J. (and Arnold) Navroski of Petersburg, VA; her two step-sons: Robert E. (and Michele) Provencher of Hinsdale, and Ronald E. (and Brenda) Provencher of Hinsdale; her step-daughter: Kathleen (and Ralph) Packard of Painville, KY; sixteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her brother: Jack Parslow of Powantan, VA; and her sister: Dorothy Fallon of Pittsfield. She was pre-deceased by her daughter: Dianna L. Provencher Cannon, her sister: Barbara Poulton, her brother: William Smith, and her step-grandson: Matthew Provencher


FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service will be held WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Pittsfield Cemetery with Rev. Cricket Cooper, pastor of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, officiating. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield to defray final expenses.
