Obituary for Janet Agnes D'Agostino

Janet Agnes D’Agostino, beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away January 2, 2021 at Craneville Place in Dalton. Janet was born on December 20, 1931 and raised in the “Junction” in Pittsfield, MA. She was 89.

Janet was the daughter to the late Bernard and Teresa Nicola Bassett. She was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. She married Frank D’Agostino on September 10, 1960.

Janet was primarily a stay-at-home Mom. At one time she worked for General Electric, Colonial News, Big Y, Harry’s Supermarket and Liggott’s.

She enjoyed playing BINGO, going to the casino, playing the horses, playing cards, Yatzee and other various games. She especially cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Janet leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Frank D’Agostino of Pittsfield, MA; her seven beautiful children: Holly Pignatelli and her partner Dave of Lenox, MA; Stacy Nash and her husband TJ of Lanesborough, MA; Dominic D’Agostino and his wife Tracey of Pittsfield, MA; Marcy Gaul of Lee, MA; Betsy D’Agostino and her wife Annette of Pittsfield, MA; Frank D’Agostino and his wife Cathy of Pittsfield, MA; and Mike D’Agostino of Pittsfield, MA. She also leaves behind her adoring eight grandchildren: Travis, Anah, Scott, Austin, Matthew, Krista, Casey, and Megan and her precious great-grandchilddren: Colton, Emily, Nolan, and Hayden; her sister Ann Marie Reagan of Pittsfield, MA and her brother Patrick Taylor of the state of Florida.

Janet was immensely proud of her children and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, celebrated by Rev. John Tuohey, Administrator. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Make-A-Wish or to Craneville Place in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201. A special "thanks" to the outstanding staff at Craneville Place.
