Obituary for Jane Geary Rudolph

Jane Ellen Geary Rudolph, of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 1.
Jane was born on August 30, 1948 in Pittsfield to the late William Thomas and Dorothy Elwell Geary, both of Pittsfield.
Jane grew up in Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1966. She went on to earn her degree in Nursing from St. Anselm's College in 1970, and a Masters in Nursing from Russell Sage Graduate School in 1985. An ardent believer that one should never stop learning, she later earned a certificate in Health Policy from the University of Maine's Edmund Muskie Institute for Public Service, and taught classes in the same at both the University of Maine and George Mason University in Virginia.
Jane worked at the Visiting Nurses Association of Pittsfield for many years, as well as General Electric. She also lived in Maine, Minnesota, and Virginia, and her career included the HRM Care Management, the National Governor's Association, and the United States Department of Commerce.
Jane touched the lives of many in her 64 years, and was known for her love of family, her faith, her quirky sense of humor, her fondness for books and music, her masterful skills as a baker and
photographer, her ready willingness to debate politics, her love of travel and nature, and her personal courage in the face of adversity. She will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her sister Martha Fezzie and brother-in-law Charles of Richmond, Massachusetts; her brother Dennis Geary and sister-in-law Susan of Carrollton, Virginia; her sons Michael Leonard Gigliotti of Pittsfield and Joseph William Gigliotti and daughter-in-law Holly Canevari and her granddaughter Margaret Jane of Alexandria, VA; and her many nieces and nephews.
