Obituary for James "Pool Chalk" Massacani

James C. "Pool Chalk" Massacani, 68, of 193 Elberon Avenue, Rose Manor, Pittsfield died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, November 24, 2014.
Born on July 24, 1946 in Pittsfield, a son of the late Peter V. and Margaret M. Williams Massacani. He attended schools in Pittsfield and was a 1965 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
James had been a bell captain at Holiday and Surfside Hotel in Clearwater Beach, Florida; he also had worked for the Home Plate Restaurant, Petricca Construction and First National Grocery Store. He was a communicant of the former St. Mary's Church; he enjoyed horseracing, watching pro football, and was passionate about cooking. His greatest joy was spending time with his great nieces and nephews.
He leaves two brothers, Peter Massacani and his wife Evelyn and William Massacani and his wife Cathy all of Pittsfield. Four sisters, Margaret Smith and her husband William of St. Petersburg, Florida, Candace J. Delaney and her husband Michael of Dalton, Rose Pigott and her husband Michael of Pittsfield and Theresa Massacani of Pittsfield. Many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He also leaves his close dear friend, Joan Clemons. James will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.

FUNERAL NOTICE- Calling hours for James C. "Pool Chalk" Massacani will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 from 4 to 7 P.M. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA. Burial will be at a later date in the Cheshire Cemetery with his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
