Obituary for Jacomina M. Cirone
JACOMINA MARY CIRONE, 89, formerly of North Adams and Adams, died
Saturday, June 14, at Life Care Center of Plymouth, Massachusetts, where she had
resided the past two months.
Born in Athol, Massachusetts, February 20, 1919, a daughter of Giacomo and
Constantina Amadio Marsico, she was a graduate of Athol High School.
She moved to North Adams in 1928 to be close to her sister, Rachel Montagna,
and it was there she met her husband-to-be, Frank Cirone, whom she married in 1936.
Mr. Cirone died March 14, 1996.
During World War II, Mrs. Cirone was employed at Gale's Shoe Factory where
she met many lifelong friends. She later worked for First National Stores and for
Williams College. Mrs. Cirone leaves a son, Michael F. Cirone of Louisville, Kentucky; two
daughters, Marilyn F. Gilchrist of Plymouth, and Melissa Cirone of Sacramento,
California; a sister, Rachel Staraitis of Patterson, New Jersey; and three beloved grand-
children, Elizabeth, Robert, and Pablo.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for JACOMINA MARY CIRONE, who died Saturday,
June 14, will be held later this Summer at Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
The DERY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
