Condolence: I meet Jack some 50 years ago with my move with family to Dalton. I was fortunate to be on his bowling team and we where golf partners in the Thursday night league. Jack was a wonderful person to be with. He was always smiling and completely relaxed under all situations. He did play a nice game of golf. I'll always remember his friendship.

Condolence: My life has been so enriched from having known Jack Franklin since he hired me to teach at Wahconah in 1968. He was a man of great intellect and achievements. Moreover, he had great devotion and took great pride both in his family and his job. He was not only a gentleman, but also a "gentle man". I'll never forget him.

Condolence: What a wonderful, wonderful, human being. As our Principal for the DHS class of 1958 he was a beacon of knowledge and influence on how best to guide our lives going forward. I was fortunate to have been in Jack's company several times over the past almost 60 years since we left DHS. On each occasion he would always recognize me and ask how I was doing and ask about my family. My favorite moment was, maybe, 20 years ago or so, when I was playing in the Wahconah Little Brown Jug golf tournament with my brother Rick. As we finished the 18th hole on the last day, Jack was waiting behind the green to greet me and say hey Dave - how are you doing? That was my best moment of the week.

Condolence: Jack was the consummate gentleman - a gentle man who shared his knowledge, concern, enthusiasm and fellowship with students, faculty, staff and the Dalton community. Peg and Elmer Allen, my parents, thought the world of him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Please take good care of yourselves - and each other.
