Obituary for Irene T. Wojtkowski

IRENE THERESA WOJTKOWSKI, 75, of 1565 West Housatonic Street,
Pittsfield, died Wednesday morning at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided
since December 2005.
Born in Adams, July 5, 1931, a daughter of Albert and Sophie Filip Zajchowski,
she was educated in Adams and Pittsfield schools and was very athletic in high school.
Mrs. Wojtkowski was a homemaker. At various times, she worked outside the
home, as well, and had been employed by General Electric Company, Greylock Plastics, Brett-Forer (a greeting card manufacturing company), and at Berkshire Medical Center where she had worked eight years as a housekeeper.
She was a communicant of St. Charles Church and had been a longtime member
of Holy Family Church. She was a Boston Red Sox fan, who also enjoyed other sports, and fishing.
She leaves her husband, Zigmund Wojtkowski.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons, Anthony Wojtkowski of
Bartlett, Illinois, Albert Wojtkowski of Hancock, Andrew Wojtkowski of Hancock, and Richard Wojtkowski of Richmond; two daughters, Linda Plant of Pittsfield, and Christine Dicicco of Dunstable, Massachusetts; her twin sister, Eileen Maluda of Pittsfield, and 12 grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for IRENE THERESA WOJTKOWSKI, who died Wednesday,
August 23, will be Saturday, August 26, at 8:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME,
with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at St. Charles Church, celebrated by Rev.
Peter A. Gregory, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will

Mrs. Wojtkowski was pre-deceased by her brother, Joseph Zajchowski.
