Obituary for Irene M. Masiero Mrs.

Mrs. Irene M. Kosakowski Masiero, 81, formerly of 208 Gale Avenue, Pittsfield, Ma. and a longtime West Stockbridge resident died Thursday at the home of her son Michael of 90 Beebe Pond Road, Canaan, New York where she has resided for a year. Born in the Bronx, New York on July 22, 1928 a daughter of the late Raymond A. and Mildred Peterson Spence. She attended schools in Pittsfield and was a 1946 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Irene was employed by the Berkshire Life Insurance Company as an accounts Receivable Clerk for 30 years retiring in 1990. From 2001 until 2007 she had worked as a cashier at Stop & Shop on Dan Fox Drive. She was a communicant of Saint Patrick's Church in West Stockbridge and a member of the Stockbridge Tuesday Club. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. Her first husband, Harry J. Kosakowski whom she married November 18, 1950 died August 19, 1983. Her second husband, William F. Masiero whom she married on February 12, 1988, died August 4, 1993. She leaves two sons, Raymond Kosakowski and his wife Linda of Salisbury, Ma. and Michael Kosakowski and his wife Victoria of Canaan, NY. Two grandsons, Brett and Renee Kosakowski and great grandson, Dale Kosakowski. Two nieces, Nancy Scarbo and Barbara Jo Mears. Two nephews. Robert Spence,Jr. and Wayne Spence. Grand Nephews. Robbie, Jeffrey and Erik Spence.Grand nieces, Nicole and Jamie Scarbo, Ashley and Bethany Spence, Tammy Burgess and Heather Mears. Step granddaughter, Kelly Toro, Step Grandson, John Koneff. Step great granddaughter, Isabelle Toro. Step great grandson, Quintin Toro, Jr. Step granddaughter, Paige Pinori and Step grandson, Arthur Pinori. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Spence.

Funeral Notice: The funeral for Irene Kosakowski Masiero who died November 12, 2009, will be held Saturday, November 21, 2009 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00A.M. At Saint Patrick's Church in West Stockbridge, celebrated by the Rev. Christopher Waitekus, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, West Stockbridge. There are no calling hours. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials in her memory may be made to The Alzheimer's Association in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, Ma. 01201 which is handling funeral arrangements.
