Obituary for Imelda E. Barnes

IMELDA E. BARNES, 91, of BerkshireTown Apartments, formerly of Westminster Street, Pittsfield, died Tuesday morning at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, where she had been a patient since March 17.
Born in St. Cyprien, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Arthur and Celina Dube Bourgoin, she was a descendent of the first permanent settlers of the Province of Quebec, and was educated in Canada schools.Mrs. Barnes was a homemaker.
She was a former communicant of St. Mary the Morning Star Church. She enjoyed television, reading, and doing puzzles. Her husband, Albert F. Barnes, whom she married October 10, 1936, died
November 6, 1976. Mrs. Barnes is survived by two sons, Ronald R. Barnes of Belchertown,
Massachusetts, and Raymond F. Barnes of Pittsfield; three sisters, Rita Rancourt,
Marie Rosignol and Bibiane Bonneau, all of Lewiston, Maine; seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services for IMELDA E. BARNES, who died Tuesday, July 11, will be
held Friday, July l4, at 9:30 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of
Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m, at St. Charles Church, celebrated by Rev. Peter A.
Gregory, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be on
Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs.Barnes
may be made to the American Heart Association or to St. Charles Church in care of the
Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
Mrs. Barnes leaves her seven grandchildren, Ron Barnes, Jr., Tina Wileman, Stacy Davis, Randy Barnes, Colette Barnes, Trevor Barnes, and Ralph Tovet, and four great grandchildren, Kasey, Kori, Kerik, and Payje. She was pre-deceased by her
three brothers and a sister.
