Obituary for Howard W. Storie

Howard William Storie, 74, of 429 Lenox Road, Richmond, died Thursday, May
30, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on December 20, 1938, a son of Howard E. and Ann Moran
Storie, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1956 graduate of Pittsfield
High School.
Mr. Storie was a clerk for S & A Supply Plumbing and Heating for 24 years,
retiring in 2004.
Prior to that he had been a truck driver for R.M. O'Connell for fifteen years, and previously was a milk delivery man for Crescent Creamery for ten years.
Mr. Storie was a thirty-five year member of the Richmond Fire Department and had served as its Chief for two years.
Mr. Storie had been very involved in the Richmond Little League.
He was a member of the G.E.A.A. where he enjoyed playing golf, and was a
Boston Red Sox fan, as well. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Cape Cod.
Mr. Storie's wife, the former Barbara Ann Stevenson, whom he married June
7, 1958, at Sacred Heart Church in Pittsfield, died April 24, 2013.
He is survived by three sons, Michael P. Storie and his wife, Lynne, of Pittsfield,
Mark D. Storie and his wife, Linda, of Hyannis, and Robert H. Storie and his wife, Susan,
of Centerville, Mass.; a daughter, Tami Ann Blockel of Madison, Alabama; a brother,
David E. Storie of Richmond; six grandchildren, Kati, Lee, Matthew, Timothy, Andrew,
and Avery, and two great grandchildren, Connor and Dylan.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Calling hours for Howard W. Storie will be held Tuesday, June 4, from 4:00 to
7:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. Graveside services will be
Wednesday, June 5, at 11:30 a.m., at the Richmond Center Cemetery (Route 41) in
Richmond, with Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to Richmond Fire and Ambulance in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
