Obituary for Henry J. Loehr Jr.

HENRY JOSEPH LOEHR, JR., 80, of 7 Edward Avenue, Pittsfield, died Friday, January 5, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield, September 5, 1926, he was the son of Henry J. Loehr, Sr., and
Clara E. White Loehr, he was educated in Dalton schools, until moving to Pittsfield at
The age of 1, and continued his education in Pittsfield schools. A World War II veteran, he served in the United States States Navy from October 11, 1944 to July 16, 1946.
Mr. Loehr was employed by Raynor's Bearings and Supplies for 31 years from where
He retired as Manager Of the Industrial Department. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church where he sang in the choir for 53
Years, and was a member of its Holy Name Society. He was a member of the American
Legion Post 68, the Pittsfield Civil Defense, and was a member of the Barber Shoppers.
Mr. Loehr leaves his wife, the former Betty Lou Sykes, whom he married July 30,
1949.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for HENRY JOSEPH LOEHR, JR., who died Friday, January 5,
Will be held Tuesday, January 9, at 10:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a
Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by Rev.
James K. Joyce, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be
Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in
Memory of Mr. Loehr may be made to Sacred Heart Church Choir Fund in care of the
Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
Mr. Loehr was pre-deceased by his two brothers, Robert F. Loehr and Andrew G.
Loehr, and three sisters, Corinne A. Creamer, Marjorie E. McMullen, and Jeanne M. Clavette.
He leaves several nieces and nephews.
