Obituary for Henry J. Leighfield

HENRY JOHN LEIGHFIELD, 67, of Pittsfield, died Friday, March 6, at Berkshire Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Pittsfield, July 20, 1941, a son of Frank and Cecelia Grandshaw Leighfield, he was educated in Lanesborough schools and was a 1959 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
A moldmaker by trade, Mr. Leighfield first worked for Pittsfield Mold & Tool for sixteen years, Starbase Technologies for eleven years, and Advance Machine and Tool for five years.
He had been a communicant of the former Note Dame Church. He enjoyed bowling, NASCAR and motorcycle racing, ice fishing, and spending
time with family and grandchildren.
Mr. Leighfield leaves his wife, the former Elizabeth Mary Leighton, whom he married July 24, 1965. Besides his wife, Mr. Leighfield is survived by a son, John Thomas Leighfield
and his fianc�e, Rene Tarjick of Pittsfield; two daughters, Mary E. Rench and her
husband, Daniel, of Pittsfield; Dawn T.Leighfield of Pittsfield; a brother, Lawrence
Leighfield of Adams; a sister, Patricia A. Leighfield of Brookline, Massachusetts; four
grandchildren, Jeremy Leighfield, Kara Rench, Mitchell Leighfield and Morgan
Leighfield; two brothers-in-law, Ted Underhill, Jr. and Francis J. Fetridge; four sisters-in-
law, Evelyn Leighfield, Annie Underhill, Patricia Burke, and Monica Fetridge; and many
nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for HENRY JOHN LEIGHFIELD, who died Friday, March 6,
be Thursday, March 12, at 9:00 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Msgr.
Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor of St. Joseph Church, officiating. Burial will follow in
St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the
Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Leighfield may be made to Berkshire Humane Society in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street,
Pittsfield.
