Obituary for Henry J. Lamke Jr.

Henry J. Lamke Jr., 78, of 193 Elberon Avenue, Rose Manor, died Saturday at home. Born on April 30, 1937 in Pittsfield, he was a son of the late Henry J. Lamke Sr. and the late Ruth E. MacDonald Lamke. A longtime Richmond resident, he was educated in Richmond and Pittsfield schools and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. He served his country as a member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard. A mechanic for many years, he owned and operated Lamke's Small Engine Repair for ten years. He had also worked for the Richmond Highway Department as superintendent, and the City of Pittsfield. He retired in 2000 and after his retirement he worked as security guard at the Clock Tower Building in Pittsfield. He was also a past member of the Richmond Fire Department and served as a Richmond Constable. He enjoyed playing music and was a member of the October Mountain Boys. He also enjoyed gardening and growing sunflowers and spending time with his family. He leaves six sons; John Lamke and his wife Donna of Richmond, Michael Lamke and his wife Judi of Richmond, Brian Lamke of Fort Lauderdale, FL, David Lamke and his fiancé Teva O'Rourke of Pittsfield, Daniel Lamke of Pittsfield and Dennis Lamke of Richmond. Two daughters; Linda Kingsley and her husband Jim of Richmond and Nancy Perkins and her husband Andrew of Pittsfield. He leaves two brothers; Bruce Lamke and his wife Mary of Dalton and Albert Lamke and his wife Jackie of Hawaii. Two sisters; Anneliese Cunningham and her husband James of Richmond and Ruth Reynolds of Pittsfield. He also leaves his former wife, Cornelia Rawling Lamke of Pittsfield. Fourteen grandchildren; Shana Griffin, Brianna Lamke, Devin Lamke, Valerie Kingsley, Neil Kingsley, Nicholas Perkins, Allison Lamke, Dylan Botz, Madeline Lamke, Sadie Lamke, Sophia Lamke, Cody Lamke, Ashlyn Lamke, and Alyssa Lamke as well as five great grandchildren.


FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Henry J. Lamke Jr. of Pittsfield who died January 23, 2016 will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield conducted by the Rev. Angela R. Raciti, Pastor of Berkshire Community
Church in Richmond. Burial will take place in the spring in Northeast Cemetery in Richmond. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 1 PM to 3 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Henry may be made to the Berkshire Community Church in Richmond in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201 which is handling arrangements.
