Obituary for Henry J. Decker

Henry J. Decker, 64 of 14 Hall St. died Sat. Jan.4, 2014 at his home after a long illness. Born on Sept. 17, 1949 in Pittsfield son of Joseph and Louise Gaylord Decker. He attended schools in Pittsfield. He has resided in North Adams for the past 15 years prior to that he had lived in Arizona. He was last employed as a security guard for Superior Guard Service in Pittsfield for 3 years and prior to that he had been employed for the City of Pittsfield Dept. of Public Works for 6 years. He was a avid sports fan and enjoyed the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics. He was a US Marine Corp. Vietnam Veteran. He leaves his wife the former, Marie L. Baker whom he married Sept. 7, 1973. His children, Steven J. Decker, Melissa J. Decker and Trevor J. Decker all of North Adams. Two grandsons, Zackary J. and Dylan N. Decker. A sister, Louise M. Shuttleworth of Hinsdale and several nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service with military honors will be held Wed. Jan. 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pittsfield Cemetery new section located off of Onota St. Pittsfield. Calling hours at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield will be Tuesday from 2 to 5 P.M. The omission of flowers is requested and that donations may be made to his wife Marie Decker to defray funeral expenses.
