Obituary for Helen Mary Zink

Helen Mary Zink, 86, of Dalton, passed away May 8, 2022 at Springside Nursing Home.

Born in Pittsfield on August 4, 1935 to Warren A. and Madeline C. Fitzgerald Turner. She was educated in Lee schools and was a 1953 graduate of Lee High School. She then attended Henry W. Bishop Memorial School of Nursing, from which she graduated in 1956 and became a registered nurse.

She married Robert Zink on June 1, 1957 at St. Mary’s Church in Lee.

Mrs. Zink was a registered nurse for 28 years, first at Pittsfield General Hospital and then at Berkshire Medical Center, from which she retired in 1993.

A communicant of St. Agnes Church, she enjoyed traveling, especially to Cape Cod where she liked to go clamming. She was an avid walker and loved to bake.

She leaves her husband, Robert Zink, with whom she would have celebrated 65 years of marriage on June 1st. Children, Timothy W. Zink and wife Kathy of Dalton, Thomas C. Zink and wife Mariann of Harrison, NY, Karen A. Vosburgh and husband Gary of Hinsdale, and Katherine Finelli and husband Louis of Middletown, DE.
Ten grandchildren, Brian (Monique), Shaun and Kelly Vosburgh, Taylor (Kerry), Tucker (Kaitlyn), Carly, Andrew and Thomas Zink, Nicholas and Rachel Finelli. Four great-grandchildren, Jake, Kyle, Laura and Isla. Her sister, Norma J. Plankey of Lee.

She was predeceased by her siblings, John, Patricia and Marjorie.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Sugar Hill and Springside Nursing Home for the care they gave her.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held FRIDAY, May 13, 2022 at 12 p.m. at St. Agnes Church, celebrated by Rev. Christopher Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow at Ashuelot Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Agnes Church in care of Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 E. Main St, Dalton.
