Obituary for Helen M. Osterhout

Helen Mary Osterhout, 67, of 2 Woodruff Road, West Stockbridge, Ma. died Sunday at Fairview Commons in Great Barrington, Ma. where she had resided for the past three years. Born on May 3, 1939 in Pittsfield, Ma. a daughter of the late Charles M. and Helen Ring Magner. She attended schools in West Stockbridge, Ma. and Stockbridge, Ma. and was a graduate of the former Williams High School in Stockbridge. She also was a graduate of E. A. Ollis School of Hair, Beauty, Culture and Cosmetology in Worcester, Ma. Mrs. Osterhout was a Rural US Mail Carrier for the US Postal Service in West Stockbridge for seven years, she also had worked with her daughter Tracy in her Boutique Beaumonde in Great Barrington, Ma. for 3 years. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in West Stockbridge, Ma. where she had sung in the church choir. She enjoyed, Knitting, gardening, reading and dancing. She had been a volunteer with the community health program, the PTA, the Brownies and the Girls Scouts. She leaves her husband, Robert A. Osterhout, Sr. whom she married June 28, 1958 at St. Patrick's Church, West Stockbridge, Ma. A son, Robert A. Osterhout, Jr. of Richmond, Ma. Two daughters, Tracy A. Adams of Temecula, California and Tammy L. Osterhout of Great Barrington, Ma. One Brother, James M. Magner of Richmond, Ma. and Five Grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Helen M. Magner Osterhout who died September 3, 2006 will be held Friday at 9:00 A.M. from the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, Ma. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in West Stockbridge, Ma. celebrated by the Rev. William Eckert. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Patrick's Cemetery, W. Stockbridge. Calling hours at Dery Funeral Home will be Thursday from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials in her memory may be made to Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders in care of the funeral home. Helen is survived by her five adored grandchildren, Tori and Amber Osterhout, Lukas Adams, Ashley and Kyle Wellenkamp. She was predeceased by a sister, Maureen P. Piatkowski and by a brother, John P. Magner. Her life was spent taking care of her family and children; she was the most dedicated dear angel of a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Helen continued to always give to everyone and loved spending precious time with them all. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
