Obituary for Helen M. Gugino

HELEN M. GUGINO, 87, of 2865 Mizzen Way, Naples, Florida, a former Pittsfield resident, died Thursday, August 16, at her home. Prior to moving to
Florida three years ago, she had lived in Vermont and in Pittsfield.
Born in Pittsfield, May 26, 1920, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marcelina Garcia
Flores Guitian, she was educated in Pittsfield and was a 1937 graduate of Pittsfield
High School. She was also a 1939 graduate of St.Luke's School of Nursing and a
graduate of Russell Sage College (family does not know year) where she earned a bachelor's degree in nursing.
A registered nurse by profession, Mrs. Gugino had been employed by the
former St. Luke's Hospital (now Berkshire Medical Center) and did private duty
nursing, she also had been a school nurse for the Southern Berkshire Regional School
District at one time. Mrs. Gugino was a very spiritual person. She was a communicant of St. William Catholic Church in Naples and was a member of Renew in Florida (a church group).
While in Pittsfield, she was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She held a strong belief in education, as well and, she enjoyed being with her family.
She leaves her husband, Joseph S. Gugino of Naples, FL whom she married November 27, 1945.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Arlene Molina of Merida Yuctan, Mexico, Jayne Larkin of Naples Florida, with whom she and her husband made their home, Mary Hebert of Pittsfield, and Marcie Stanley of Dallas, Texas; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.


FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for HELEN M. GUGINO, who died Thursday, August 16, 2007 will be private with burial to be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Mrs. Gugino was a very spiritual person and was a member of Renew in Florida . She also held a strong belief in education, as well. She found great joy in being with her family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Gugino may be made to the Massachusetts Citizens for Life in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. Mrs. Gugino was pre-deceased by her brother, Joseph Guitian, late of Pittsfield.
