Obituary for Harvey E. Fiegel

Harvey E. Fiegel, 92, of 252 Yokun Road in Richmond died Sunday, June 14, 2015 at home. Born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin on April 26, 1923, he was a son of the late Gustav and Florence Bulgrin Fiegel. A longtime Richmond resident, he was educated in Wisconsin Rapids, WI schools, after high school he moved to California and worked in a fish hatchery, drafted in the Army in 1942, served in European theather with the 130th Infantry Division. Upon discharge he attended and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University and earned a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering at Rensselaer Poly Technical Institute. He was employed as an engineer for many years for General Electric Company. He retired in 1986. He was a member of Richmond Congregational Church and the Professional Engineers IEEE. He also was a member of the Elfun Club and the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners Clubs. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, sailing and instructing sailing wintering in Florida and traveling across the lower 48, Mexico, Canada and Alaska with his wife Christeene, and as of lately playing poker with his friends. He leaves his wife at home, Christeene Mullen Fiegel whom he married on October 6, 1946. Four sons; Edward M. Fiegel and his wife Carol of Orleans, MA, Ralph T. Fiegel and his wife Gertrude of Lenox, Kurt H. Fiegel of Frankfort, Kentucky and Wade S. Fiegel and his wife Christine of West Stockbridge. A brother; Roy of Wisconsin and a sister; Gladys of Iowa. He also leaves 12 grandchildren
8 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother John and by sisters; Dorothy and Marion. Harvey would have liked to have thanked all the employees at Hospice and especially Andrea Black.


FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Harvey E. Fiegel, 92, of Richmond who died June 14, 2015 will be held Friday June 19,2015 at 10 AM at Richmond Congregational Church, celebrated by Janet McKinstry . Burial will follow in Center Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield from 4-7pm.
Memorial donations in memory of Mr. Fiegel may be made to Richmond Congregational Church or Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
