Obituary for Harry T. Sayers Jr.

Harry T. Sayers Jr., 68, of 24 Lakewood Drive, Pittsfield, died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on November 25, 1946 in Pittsfield, he was a son of the late Harry T. Sayers Sr. and the late Ethel Cameron Sayers. A former longtime Hinsdale resident, he was educated in Pittsfield and New York schools. He proudly served his country with the United States Army. Harry was employed for over forty years as a beater engineer at the former Schweitzer-Maudit in Lee. He retired in 2009. He had also worked as a security guard at one time at the 877 South Street Building in Pittsfield. He enjoyed antique cars, hunting and going on day trips to New York and Connecticut with his wife. He leaves his wife, the former Wanda L. Demary whom he married on September 14, 1968 in Dalton. A daughter; Linda L. Sayers of Pittsfield and a son; Harry T. Sayers III and his wife Susan of Pittsfield. Four grandchildren; Krista L. Levesque, Kristina M. Sayers, Kaylena L. Sayers and Harry T. Sayers IV. He also leaves four great grandchildren; Shayna Bowe, Nevaeh M. Holloway, Desiree J. Holloway and Javiona L. Holloway and nine brothers and two sisters. He predeceased his sister; Cynthia Klein who also passed away on Sunday, the same day as him, but later in the day.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Harry T. Sayers Jr. who died November 22, 2015 will be held Friday from 4 to 7 PM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Harry may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
