Obituary for Harry L Morris
Harry Lee Morris, 99, of Cheshire, passed away March 9, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Martin, West Virginia on December 5, 1921, he was the son of the late Roy L. and Georgia Crookshanks Morris.
He was a 1937 graduate of Somerville High School in Somerville, WV. Harry married the former Dolly Ruth Woods on April 10, 1943. She predeceased him on January 27, 2020.
Mr. Morris was a heavy equipment mechanic for the maintenance division of General Electric for 15 years.
A member of First Baptist Church in Cheshire and enjoyed spending time gardening, doing yardwork and feeding the birds. He also enjoyed spending time with his cat, Lucy.
Mr. Morris is survived by his daughter, Ann Hisert and husband George of Guilderland, NY; sons, Harry L. Morris Jr., and wife Wendy of Greenfield, MA, and Anthony C. Morris and wife Ann of Adams, MA; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his daughter Ruth Elaine Peterson and son William L. Morris.
Funeral Notice: Services will be held SATURDAY, March 13, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Dery-Cheshire Funeral Home, celebrated by Rev. William Furey. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Cheshire Fire Department and Rescue Squad in care of the funeral home, PO BOX 445, Cheshire, MA.
