Obituary for Hannah Mary Bondini-Putnam

HANNAH MARY BONDINI-PUTNAM, 77, a longtime resident of 32 Glassworks Road, Berkshire, and a winter resident of Zephyrhills, Florida, died
Wednesday, September 2, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield, June 17, 1932, the daughter of Earl W. and Edna Sukanek
Best, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1950 graduate of Pittsfield High School, and was a 1953 graduate of St. Luke School of Nursing. A registered nurse by profession, Mrs. Bondini-Putnam was first employed by the
former St. Luke Hospital, now Berkshire Medical Center, and at Berkshire Medical
Center where she worked in the Intensive Care Nursery.
In 1975, she went to work for the General Electric Medical Center and was
there 13 years until 1983.
Mrs. Bondini-Putnam was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire and had been a communicant of the former North American Martyrs Church
where she was a member of the Rosary Sodality.
She was a member of the St. Luke School of Nursing Alumni Association and a
member of the National Occupational Health Nurses Association.
She enjoyed craft making, traveling, attending her grandchildren's sporting events, and being with her family.
Her first husband, Albert D. Bondini, whom she married May 1, 1954, died
February 13, 1975.
She was pre-deceased by her second husband, Donald R. Putnam, whom she married February 27, 1987, and who died January 11, 2009.
Mrs. Bondini-Putnam is survived by four sons, Dominic Bondini and his
companion, Joanne Heaton, of Pittsfield, David Bondini of Berkshire, Peter Bondini
and his wife, Karen of Pittsfield, and Patrick Bondini of Berkshire; a daughter, Kathy
A Larson and her husband, Steven, of Lanesborough; 13 grandchildren, Timothy,
Johanna, and Michael Larson, Nicholas, Matthew, Jessie, Jamie, and Daniel
Bondini, Kayla Burke, Robbie Burke, and Esther Rose Chilson, and Kyle and Cassie
Kelson; a great grandson, Michael John Bondini; an adopted daughter, Candida
Chilson and her husband, Edward; and a stepdaughter, Debbie Kelson and her husband
William of Washington, Massachusetts.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, Earl W. Best and a sister, Jean Best.


FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for HANNAH MARY BONDINI-PUTNAM, who died
Wednesday, September 2, will be Saturday, September 5, at 8:45 a.m., from DERY-
CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m., at
St. Mary of the Assumption Church, celebrated by Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta,
Pastor of St. Agnes Church. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery. Calling hours
will be Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Bondini-Putnam may be made to
HospiceCare in The Berkshires, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or to Berkshire Union
Chapel all in care of the Funeral Home, P.O. Box 445, Cheshire.
