Obituary for Hanley David Palmer

Hanley David Palmer, Sr., 72, formerly of Bradford Street, Pittsfield, died Monday, April 4, 2016, at Hillcrest Commons.
Mr. Palmer was born in Lebanon Springs, New York, on October 7, 1943, the son of the late Chester V Palmer Sr. and Alice Liebenow Palmer. He was educated in Lebanon schools.
Mr. Palmer was the owner/operator of the former P & M Automotive in Dalton for over twenty years; he retired in 1996. He had also plowed Pittsfield city streets for several years.
Mr. Palmer is survived by his son: Hanley D. Palmer, Jr. and his wife Susan Freehoffer of West Lebanon, NY; his sister: Alice Hall of Pittsfield; his companion of over thirty years: Sylvia Cone of Pittsfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his son: William D. Palmer; his sister: Elizabeth Hoisington; and his two brothers: Chester "Skippy" Palmer, Jr. and Walter Boutwell.

FUNERAL NOTICE Funeral services will be held MONDAY, APRIL 11, 2016 at 12:00 PM NOON at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield with Rev. Charles F. Young, Chaplain, HospiceCare in the Berkshires, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will preceed the funeral beginning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
