Obituary

Gwendolyn Ann Wilde, 92, of Pittsfield, MA, passed away May 2, 2020 at her home. Born in Pittsfield, MA on April 3, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Anna K. Stalker Phillips.

She attended Pittsfield schools and was a 1946 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Gwendolyn married the late Alden R. Wilde on August 2, 1947. He predeceased her on November 11, 1987, after 40 years of marriage.

She worked for many years at Wyndotte Mill and then K-Mart in Pittsfield for 18 years, retiring in August of 1988. She also previously worked at Walmart and Hills Department Store.

A member of the 1st Methodist Church, she delivered the Berkshire Eagle for 11 years, until she turned 78 years old. She enjoyed family vacations to Hampton Beach, and loved to read and do word searches.

Mrs. Wilde leaves behind her daughter, Mrs. Marie E. Bartlett and husband Henry of Peru, MA; two grandchildren, Shelby L. Bartlett and Lauren E. Bartlett. She was predeceased by her brothers, Walter, Clifford and George Phillips and her sister, Evelyn Radke.

The family would like to thank her aides from Molari, Mountain View Home Care, HospiceCare in The Berkshires and Elara Caring.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will private with burial in Pittsfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75231; or Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Rd, Pittsfield, MA 01201. DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME is handling the arrangements.
