Obituary for Grace P. Houle

GRACE P. HOULE, 84, of 7 Velma Avenue, Pittsfield, died Wednesday evening at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield, July 31, 1922, a daughter of Archibald and Catherine Nethery Houston, she was a 1940 graduate of Pittsfield High School and has been a member of
the Class of 1940 Reunion Committee.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Houle had also worked in bookkeeping for the former England Brothers Department Store and Colt Insurance Agency, and in the sales department at A.H. Rice Company.
Mrs. Houle was a communicant of St. Teresa Church. She enjoyed knitting,cross stitch, sewing, and gardening.
Her husband, Joseph A. Houle, whom she married February 15, 1943, died October 3, 1992.
Mrs. Houle is survived by two daughters, Catherine A. Leonard of Pittsfield,
and JoAnn G. Lacey of Bumpass, Virginia; a sister, Beverly Blaisdell of Chapel
Hill, North Carolina; five grandchildren, eight grandchildren, and three great great
grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a son, Robert T. Houle, who died January
18, 1971.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for GRACE P. HOULE, who died Wednesday,
April 25, will be Tuesday, May 1, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Teresa Church, celebrated by
Rev. Mark Mengel, S.S.C., Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There
are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory Mrs. Houle may be
made to Friends of Renal Dialysis or to the charity of one's choice both in care of
