Obituary for Grace C. Deebach

Grace Christina Deebach, 89, of 19 Birchwood Terrace, Dalton, died Monday,
February 4, 2013, at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had been a patient the past month.
Prior to moving to Dalton 1988, she had resided in Rego Park, New York, from 1969 to
1988.
Born in Pittsfield on March 5, 1923, a daughter of Wallace and Florence LaVigne O'Melia, she was educated in Queens and Manhattan schools and was a graduate of Washington Irving High School in Manhattan.
Mrs. Deebach had been an accountant for the New York City Board of Education
for twenty years. Prior to that she had been an accountant for Dugan Brothers Baking
Company in Queens Village for over twenty years.
She enjoyed playing bridge. In her earlier years, she enjoyed boating.
She leaves her husband, Henry C. Deebach, whom she married March 22, 1969,
in Bay Shore, Long Island.
Mrs. Deebach is also survived by a sister, Sarah Brophy, of Pittsfield, and a brother, Lawrence O'Melia, of Springfield, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Christina, and a brother, Wallace O'Melia.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Grace Christina Deebach will be held Friday, February 8, at
8:15 a.m. from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Michael Lillpopp. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Church in care of the Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
