Obituary for Grace E. "“Gracie”" Kuvent (Chilton)
Grace E. “Gracie” Kuvent, age 84, of Lakeway Drive, died Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Berkshire Medical Center. She was born in Pittsfield on August 12, 1933, the daughter of the late Ralph and Agnes Clapper Chilton. She was educated in Pittsfield schools.
Gracie had worked for several companies, Berkshire Unlimited, Kay-Bee Toys, and at Blue Q, where she retired in the late 90’s. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, loved to play cards, and loved Elvis Presley music.
She is survived by her husband: Michael A. Kuvent of Pittsfield; her brother: James Chilton; and her two sisters: Barbara LaGrant, and Shirley Robinson. She was pre-deceased by her sister-in-law: Joanne Chilton; her three sisters: Doris Spezzaferro, Ann Wixom, Marilyn Gelpi; and her two brothers: Ralph Chilton and Wyatt Knight.
FUNERAL NOTICE Funeral services will be held THURSDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME with Captain Elliott Higgins, Commanding Officer of the Pittsfield Salvation Army, officiating. Calling hours will precede the funeral beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berkshire County Arc in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. To share a memory or condolence, please visit www.deryfuneralhome.com.
