Obituary for Gloria L. Pallos

Gloria L. Pallos,83, of 34 Howe Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Berkshire Medical Center. A longtime resident of Pittsfield, she had resided in Baldwinsville, N.Y., for many years. Born in Lackawanna, N.Y., Oct. 9, 1925, daughter of Daniel and Lucille Fiorella Chiacchia, she was a graduate of Lackawanna High School. Mrs. Pallos was a homemaker. During World War II, she worked for the War Department at the Pentagon. She was a volunteer at Berkshire Medical Center for several years, and was a member of the General Electric Ladies Luncheon Group for many years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed being with her grand- children. She also enjoyed cooking. Her husband, Charles M. Pallos, whom she married June 28, 1955, in Rochester, N.Y., died Feb. 6, 2006. Mrs. Pallos leaves three sons, Michael C. Pallos, II, of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; Mark L. Pallos and his wife, Marisa, of Pittsfield, and Dino A. Pallos, and his wife, Hannah, of Lanesborough; two daughters, Dannielle Rice of Dallas, Texas, and Charlaine Burkett, and her husband, Tom, of Forest, Va.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pallos was pre-deceased by a son, Charles Christopher Pallos, who died in 1995, and by three brothers and four sisters. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Gloria L. Pallos, who died Tuesday, Oct. 21, will be Saturday, Oct. 25, at 8:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m., at St. Charles Church, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Elder Services of Berkshire County in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
