Obituary for Gladys E. Secord

Gladys E. Secord, 85, of 130 California Avenue, Pittsfield, died Monday, February 23, 2015, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on April 13, 1929, the daughter of Hiram and Emily Hutchinson Brooks,
she was educated in Pittsfield schools.
She had been employed by Greylock Plastics and Polymatrix.
Mrs. Secord was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.
She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She is remembered as taking care of everyone except herself. She enjoyed watching "Wheel of
Fortune", dining out, swimming, and ice skating.
Mrs. Secord is survived by her children, Barbara Douglass of Dalton; and her son, Adam
Douglass; Glenn Secord of Pittsfield and his children, Renee Secord and Andrew Jacobs; Gary
Secord of Pittsfield; Linda Secord of Lanesborough and her son, Jeffrey Brodeur of Watertown;
and Gail Brown and her husband, Devon, of Hinsdale, and their children, Devon, Jr., and Dalton;
and nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by a son-in-law, Brian Douglass, and granddaughter, Erica
Douglass; two sisters, Dorothy Grizey and Ruth Hubbel; a brother, Hiram Brooks; and a brother-in-law, George Hubbel.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Gladys E. Secord will be held Thursday, February 26, at 1:00 p.m.,
at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield with Pastor Sigmund Sadzinski officiating. Burial will
follow in Pittsfield Cemetery.
Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 12:00 noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association
or to the charity of one's choice in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
