Obituary for Gertrude M. Hornyak

GERTRUDE M. HORNYAK, 76, of 1446 West Street, Pittsfield, died Sunday,
August 31, at Berkshire Medical Center, with her family by her side.
Born in Pittsfield, January 19, 1932, a daughter of Walter and Emily Hinckley
Hodlin, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Hornyak was employed as an envelope machine operator at the former Eaton
Paper Company where she worked for 40 years until retiring in 1988 when the factory
closed. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and building puzzles. She also enjoyed
traveling to Florida, especially to Disney World.
She leaves her husband, Frank M. Hornyak, whom she married May 10, 1952,
in St. Mark Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, David M. Hornyak and his
wife, Susan "Rainbow", of Pittsfield, and John M. Hornyak of Pittsfield; and a brother,
Joseph Hodlin of Pittsfield; four granddaughters, Lori Lynn of Pittsfield, Trina Jean of New Orleans, Cheryl Lynne of Pittsfield, and Michaela Shelby of Pittsfield; and several
nieces and nephews. She was "Aunt Grama Gerk" to her sweet and beloved great niece, Annie Maloney, who is the daughter of her niece, Lisa Croshier. Mrs. Hornyak was pre-
deceased by two sisters, Florence Hodlin and Phyllis Croshier, both late of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for GERTRUDE M. HORNYAK, who died Sunday, August
31, will be private, with burial to be in Pittsfield Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
The DERY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
