Obituary for Geraldine Touponce Pergola

Geraldine Touponce Pergola, 77, of 2088 Swamp Road, Richmond, MA died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on April 16, 2015 at Albany Medical Center, NY. Born on August 29,1937 in Great Barrington, MA, she was the first-born daughter of the late Jules and Stella Kania Touponce of Stockbridge, MA, and a 1955 graduate of Williams High School in Stockbridge, MA.
Gerry was last employed and retired in 1999 as a medical secretary for Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge. She was a faithful communicant of Saint Joseph's Church in Stockbridge. Gerry was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother who also loved gardening, cooking, bird watching, reading and classical music. She brought a peaceful, loving presence to all who knew her.
Gerry is survived by her beloved husband Louis A. Pergola who she married at St. Joseph's Church in Stockbridge on September 3, 1962; two daughters, Beth Pergola Vickery of Lanesboro, MA and Lisa J. Pergola of Swansea, MA; a son, Ken M. Pergola of Chandler, AZ; three sisters, Betty J. Homich and husband Edward of Pittsfield, MA, Linda Touponce of Lee, MA, and Karen Touponce of Pittsfield, MA; her four cherished grandchildren, Aimee V. Annichiarico and husband Anthony, Jessica E. Vickery, Trevor C. and Aaram E. Williams; adored great granddaughter, Daisy M. Caron; two nephews, Peter and John Homich and a niece, Christine Quetti. She was predeceased by her first-born son, Steven S. Pergola in 1993.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 11 Elm Street, Stockbridge, MA. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Stockbridge. Calling hours at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA will be Friday, April 24 from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christian Center in Pittsfield in care of the funeral home.
