Obituary for Gerald A. "Jerry" Polumbo

Gerald "Jerry" Andrew Polumbo, 71, of 700 Valentine Road, Pittsfield, died Monday, March 10,
2014, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in North Adams on April 27, 1942, the son of John J. Plumbo, Sr. and Yvonne H. Senay
Polumbo, he began his education at St. Joseph's Grammar School in North Adams and then attended
special needs classes in North Adams for ten years.
Jerry was affiliated with Berkshire County Association for Retarded Citizens' day-habilitation programs in Pittsfield and attended its BAROCO Program.
He had been a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in North Adams.
He loved music.
Jerry leaves behind his wonderful caregivers: Darrin, Barbara, Candy, Alex, Kelsey, Michelle, Kojo, Ganiyu, Kwame, Fernando, Bonnie, Kristina, Ro Shawn, Nick, Tim, Mary, Barbara, Vertine, Joyce, and Maureen.
He is also survived by six sisters, Madelaine "Madge" A. Baker, of Dalton, who was also his guardian, Barbara A. Carle of East Hanover, N.J., Joan M. Desnoyers of Gardner, Phyllis J. Peirce of Dalton, Frances H. Patenaude of North Adams, and Mary L. Lagrotteria of Pittsfield; as well as 34 nieces and nephews, 51 great nieces and nephews, and 8 great great nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by four brothers, John J. Polumbo, Jr., Richard P. Polumbo, Robert M. Polumbo, and David J. Polumbo and three sisters, Patricia E. McCloskey, Helen R. Jones, and Beatrice R.
Polumbo.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Gerald "Jerry" Andrew Polumbo will be held Friday, March 14, at 9:15 a.m.,
from DERY FUNERAL HOME in PITTSFIELD with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Church in Dalton. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in PITTSFIELD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berkshire Community Foundation
