Obituary for Gerald Monterosso

Gerald M. Monterosso, 65, of Pittsfield, passed away September 21, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center.

He was born in Pittsfield, MA on May 13, 1957 to the late Frank and Madeline Arseneau Monterosso.

A 1975 graduate of Taconic High School, Gerald went on to receive many other degrees including: Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University; Masters of Science in Management from Cambridge College; and Masters of Science in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix.

In the 1980’s he was employed by General Electric Defense Systems as an Electronics Design Engineer. He then went on to work for Beloit Corporation, as a Senior Engineer, Senior Project Engineer and Project Manager as well as a Senior Design Engineer. He also had been employed by Miss Hall’s School, Berkshire Health Systems, and General Dynamics. He most recently had been an Adult Foster Care Professional through BCArc and BFAIR as well as a Resource Room Instructor for Mass Hire Berkshire Career Center.
Mr. Monterosso invented the “Density Analyzer System” for Beloit, which “calculates roll density by recording the footage wound on the roll as the roll builds on the winder.”

He is survived by his children, Teresa Monterosso and fiancé Christopher Hinchliffe; and Joshua Monterosso and his twin, Giselle Yetz. Three dogs, Katrina Bell, Ulysses, and Kaylee. As well as three cats, Seth, Autumn, and Scottie.

He was predeceased by his wife Donna Culverwell Monterosso; and his siblings, Joann Bradshaw, Grace Degaul and Frances Stanfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside services will be held, Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery in the St. Anne de Beaupre section upon the hill. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
