Obituary for Gerald S. "Jerry" Clemons

Gerald S. "Jerry" Clemons, 73, of 36 Bossidy Drive, Pittsfield, died Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Pittsfield on May 28, 1943, the son of Charles M. and Dorothy E. (O'Brien) Clemons, he was educated in local schools.
From a very young age Jerry was involved in the family taxi business; his father owned and operated "Charlie's Taxi Company." Later in life Jerry owned and operated his own businesses; Courtesy Livery Service and Aace Limousine. In total Jerry was in the transportation business for more than 50 years.
However, Jerry's greatest love was spending time with his large family. Jerry expressed that love by giving all of his family members unique nick names. He also enjoyed family gatherings and making everyone laugh. Jerry had a wonderful sense of humor. His passion was in restoration modeling; especially restoring old Tonka trucks and traveling to local flea markets.
Jerry is survived by his wife; the former Meredith P. Nylic of Pittsfield with whom he married February 11, 1967, they had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, , two daughters; Charlene M. McDonnell (Oldest) and her husband Bernard (Bonehead) of Georgia, VT and Michele D. White (Chicken) of Pittsfield; four grandchildren; Renee L. Procopio-Melino (Brewsty) and her husband Richard (Stealer) of North Andover, MA, Paul J. Procopio Jr. (J-Bird) of Pittsfield, Kodey A. White (Dugg) and his companion Emily Deaso (EM2) of Pittsfield, and Galina M. McDonnell (Clarice) of Everett, MA, one great-grandchild; Vincenza L. Melino (Lil Vinnie) of North Andover, MA, three brothers; Charles S. Clemons (Chawky) of Pittsfield, John T. Clemons (Brother John) and his wife Betty of Pittsfield, Ralph N. Clemons (Catnip) and his wife Harriett (Lovey) of Summerfield, FL and a sister-in-law Catherine W. Clemons (Bushwack) of Pittsfield, many beloved nieces and nephews; especially his niece; Sara J. Clemons (Bulldog) of Pittsfield and her children; Cortnee A. Clemons (Courthouse) and Kyleigh Y. Pannesco (Dustmop) also of Pittsfield and his nephew; Christopher Clemons (Nephew) of Pittsfield.
He was predeceased by a son-in-law; James E. White who died November 29, 2008 and a brother Robert L. Clemons.
Jerry's family would like to thank Hospice Services of Western Mass for their compassion and care of Jerry during his illness, especially, Carmen, Eleanor and Dr. Kittler (Kit).



FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Jerry Clemons who died March 26, 2017 will be held Friday, March 31, at 6:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 BRADFORD ST. PITTSFIELD. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Friday, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Services of Western Mass in care of the funeral home.
