Obituary for George Rocca
George Rocca, 88, of Hinsdale, MA, passed away February 12, 2021 at Craneville Place, where he resided for the past 4 1/2 months.
Born in Pittsfield, MA on October 6, 1932, a son of the late Michael and Angelina Galiano Rocca. He attended Pittsfield schools and was a 1950 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
George married the former Suzanne Lombardi on November 10, 1990.
Mr. Rocca was employed by The General Electric Company for 41 years, retiring as a Quality Control Foreman in 1990. After retirement, he drove a school bus for Pittsfield Public Schools for 10 years.
He was an avid golfer and an accomplished softball player in his younger years. He also enjoyed candlepin bowling.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Lombardi-Rocca of Hinsdale; two sons, Richard Rocca of Lanesborough and David Rocca of Pittsfield; two daughters, Lynda Cheda of Pittsfield and Pamela Brodeur of Pittsfield; eight grandchildren, Marshall and Norman Stokes, Angela Szczepaniak, Lisa and David Rocca and Lindsi Hanson and Kyle and Randi Rocca; as well as five great-grandchildren, Celia Szczepaniak, Joseph Szczepaniak III, Tessa and Kyron Hanson and Lila Ann Rocca.
He was predeceased by his son, Randy Rocca in 1986, a sister, Antoinette Rocca and eight brothers, Samuel, Francis, Joseph, Russell, William, Robert, Alfred, and John Rocca.
He also was predeceased by his first wife, Esther Leone.
