Obituary for George Laviolette

George Alexander Laviolette, 72, of 15 Knox Road, Pittsfield, died peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Born in Worcester on October 30, 1949, the son of Paul E. Laviolette, Sr., and Pauline Grenache Laviolette, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Mr. Laviolette was employed as a truck driver for Mountain View Construction for over forty years.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and had been a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 103 in Pittsfield. He was an avid history buff who also enjoyed football, as well as spending time with family.

George is survived by three brothers, Paul "Jack" E., Jr. (wife Rita) Laviolette of Pittsfield, Leo E. (wife Colleen) Laviolette of Hancock, and David E. (wife Celka) Laviolette of Richmond, two sisters, Linda E. Laviolette of Pittsfield, and Patricia A. (husband Randy) Green of Miami, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for George A. Laviolette will be held Saturday, October 29, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Church celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, October 28, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME.

The family is requiring the wearing of masks at both calling hours and the services. The family is also requesting that in consideration of allergies the omission of flowers be respected. It is suggested that those who desire make memorial contributions to the Williams Syndrome Association in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
