Obituary for George H. Haddad
George H. Haddad, of Pittsfield, passed away February 16, 2023, his 87th birthday.
Born in North Adams, MA on February 16, 1936, he was the son of Harry and Melvina Joseph Haddad.
George was educated in North Adams schools. He married the former JoAnne F. Chiorgno on July 15, 1972.
He was a group leader at General Electric for 25 years, retiring in 1992.
Mr. Haddad enjoyed fishing, gardening, gourmet cooking and wine making. He had amazing gardens which he loved to share his harvest with neighbors and friends. He also enjoyed taking trips to the casino with his wife JoAnne. He was a member of the Italian American Club.
He was a devout husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with family and friends and was known as the life of the party. He will be sorely missed by many.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, JoAnne Haddad of Pittsfield. His three daughters, Barbara Haddad of North Adams, Donna Haddad-Garner of North Adams, and Kimberly Haddad-Guthrie and Iain of Greenfield, NH. Four granddaughters, Ashley Reynolds-Snook, RN and husband Randall of Weare, NH, Meagan Reynolds Chandarana , PharmD Rph and husband Neil of Buffalo NY, Brittany Garner and Aubrey Garner, both of North Adams. As well as four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister, Alice Haddad Joseph and husband Samuel; sister-in-law, Marcia and James Fabino; brother-in-law Donald Chiorgno, and niece, Christina Joseph Wegryzn.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral home services will be held, Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Dery Funeral Home, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael Shershanovich. There will be a visitation starting at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
