George V. Dunham, 82, of 79 Warren Avenue, Dalton, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on May 28, 1930, a son of the late Carl and Clara Holmes Dunham, he was a 1949 graduate of Dalton High School.
A Korean War veteran, Mr. Dunham enlisted with the United States Army on January 29, 1951, served as a radioman with the Signal Corps., and was honorably discharged with the rank of Private Second Class, on December 31, 1952.
Mr. Dunham was employed by Crane & Co., Inc., where he was the Assistant Personnel Director in the Human Resources Department. He had, at one time, served as the Safety Director and during that time had served as President of the Society
of Safety Engineers. He retired in 1992 with thirty three years service.
Mr. Dunham was a communicant of Agnes Church where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and had been President of the Adult C.C.D. program.
He was also a member of the Wahconah Country Club where enjoyed playing
golf. He was a past president of the Wahconah Booster Club and had also served as President of the Camp Fire Girls.
He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sports events and loved working around
his yard.
Mr. Dunham leaves his wife, the former Dolores A. Ferrero, whom he married May 1, 1954, in All Souls Church in Pittsfield.
Mr. Dunham is also survived by three daughters, Deborah L. Dunham of Dalton,
Susan M. Kelley and her husband, Michael, of Lanesborough, and Christine M. Gingras
and her fiancée, Arthur Corriveau, of Dalton; a sister, Margaret Estes and her husband,
Richard, of Port Charlotte, Florida; six grandchildren, Justine, Garrett, and Hayley Gingras, and Noah, Jonah, and Fiona Kelley; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Nancy Belcher, and his brother, William Dunham.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for George V. Dunham will be held Monday, January 21, at
9:15 a.m. from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Dery-Foley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Church Memorial Fund or to Dalton Ambulance and Rescue both in care of the Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
