Obituary for Gary Reid

GARY M. REID, 72, of 245 Cheshire Road, Pittsfield, died Saturday morning at
his home. Born in Pittsfield, October 5, 1934, a son of Francis and Olive Trembley Reid, he
was educated in Pittsfield schools.
A Korean War veteran, he served in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Japan.
Mr. Reid was a self-employed union painter. He retired in 2006. He had previously been a police
officer with the San Bernardino, California, Police Department. He was a master carpenter who enjoyed building furniture. He was an
outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing, and also enjoyed oil painting
and computers, and was an avid sports fan.
Mr. Reid is survived by his long-time companion, Ruth Hover of Pittsfield; two daughters, Sharron Alexander of Tularey, California and Shannon Trainor of Buena Park, California; a sister, Beverly Morin of Dalton,; and five grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service for GARY M. REID, who died Saturday, March 31, 2007 will be held Thursday, April 5, at 1:00 p.m., at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Those attending are invited to meet inside the Cemetery gate at 12:45 p.m., There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Reid may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
Mr. Reid is also survived by his companion's children, Michael & Karen North,
R.J. Hover and his fianc�e, Crystal; Ronald Hover and Jennifer , and Brenda and Fred
Conyers. He was pre-deceased by two brothers; David and Donald Reid and by his companion's son, Douglas Starbird, Sr.
