Obituary for Gaetan Joseph Michaud

Gaetan Joseph Michaud, 73, of Windsor, died Monday, April 11, 2016, at his home after a long and courageous battle with COPD.
Born in Rimouski, Quebec, Canada on August 6, 1942, the son of Lionel J. Michaud and
Rose Anne Levesque Michaud, he was educated in Canada and Pittsfield schools.
For more than forty-five years, Mr. Michaud was a business owner and contractor, and a
landlord. He had previously worked at the former Kelly Hardwood.
He was a communicant of St. Agnes Church and a very religious man.
Mr. Michaud was a member of the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Pittsfield Auxiliary Police, Lions Club of Dalton and Elks Lodge of Pittsfield. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a collector.
In later years, he enjoyed wildlife photography, as well as showing his car at car shows.
Mr. Michaud leaves his wife, the former Therese Cyr, whom he married September 17,1966.
He is also survived by two daughters, Nicole T. Casey and her husband, Jeff, of
Pittsfield, and Denise M. Rivers and her husband, Shane, of Worthington; a brother, Renald J.
Michaud and his wife, Gail, of Cheshire; his sisters, Gaetanne Wise of Pittsfield; and two
grandsons, Owen Rivers and Jack Casey.





FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Gaetan Joseph Michaud will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016, with a
Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Church (in Dalton) celebrated by Rev. Christopher A.
Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in PITTSFIELD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berkshire Visiting Nurse
Association or to HospiceCare in The Berkshires both in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford
