Obituary for Fred L. Lamb

Fred L. Lamb died peacefully Sunday January 31, 2016 at Craneville Place in Dalton MA. Fred was a hardworking, loving and caring family man. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.
Having been in ill health for a number of months, Fred wrote his own obituary as follows:
"Fred was born in Cheshire MA on July 28, 1927 to the late Everett and Evelyn Lamb. Fred was a lifetime resident of Cheshire attending school in Cheshire and Adams. After graduating from Adams High in 1945, Fred served in the U.S. Navy. After discharge, Fred joined his father in the operation of the family business, Lamb's Garage, later to be joined by his brother Bob. Fred thoroughly enjoyed a lifetime of serving the automotive needs of the local community."
"Fred was a 32 year member of the Cheshire Fire Department, his last 13 years as Fire Chief. He was a member of the Advisory Board of the Adams Branch of the former Berkshire Bank and Trust Co. Following the closure of Lamb's Garage, Fred worked for Berkshire Fuel in Adams. Following retirement, Fred worked part time as a "Go For" for H.D. Reynolds, also doing some driving for McAndrews King Buick of Adams: truly enjoying his part-time jobs."
"Fred's wife, Frannie, of 63 years predeceased him in October 2009. She was his high school sweetheart and the love of his life. They were married September 2, 1946."

"Fred and Frannie enjoyed watching their Sons, Grandsons, and Granddaughter participate in sports through high school and in college. They spent summers on Hoosac Lake enjoying boating and water-skiing. They also enjoyed snow skiing, reading, word puzzles, the casinos and sports on T.V."
"After, Frannie's passing in 2009, Fred became a frequent customer of the local restaurants where he enjoyed the kindness and courtesy and the first name basis of the staffs at these great getaways!"
