Obituary for Frank H. Stillman Jr.

Frank Henry Stillman, Jr., 67, of 3 Highview Drive, Pittsfield, died Friday, December 20, 2013, at
Cooley Dickenson Hospital in Northampton, following a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Cummington earlier that day.
Born in Pittsfield on October 14, 1946, the son of Frank H. Stillman, Sr., and Ruth Perkins Stillman, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School, was an honors graduate of Berkshire Community College, and earned a bachelor of arts degree from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
A Viet Nam War veteran, Mr. Stillman enlisted with the United Sates Army on August 29, 1967.
He served nearly a year in Korea. He was honorably discharged on August 28, 1970.
Mr. Stillman was employed by General Electric Company, and its successor Lockheed Martin,
where he was Facilities Manager. He retired in 2005 with thirty years' service.
He was a member of the Berkshire County Sheriff's Department.
A professional bowler in the 1980s, Mr. Stillman bowled a perfect 300 in October 1980 while competing in the Professional Bowlers Association regional tournament in Connecticut, and also bowled in the 1981 Showboat Invitational in Las Vegas. He served as a bowling instructor and coach for local leagues.
Mr. Stillman was actively involved with the Pittsfield Red Knights Drum and Bugle Corps when his daughter was a member.
He was a past member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, and was
a Boston Red Sox fan.
Mr. Stillman leaves his daughter, Colleen Meadows and her husband, Michael, of Hadley, and
his grandson, Zachery; as well as his former wife, Joan Fennell, Stillman of Great Barrington.
He was pre-deceased by a sister, Agnes Stillman.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Frank H. Stillman, Jr. will be held Tuesday, December 31, at 10:00 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield with Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor of St. Charles Church, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 9:00
a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Agnes Stillman Scholarship Fund (Sage College), in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
