Obituary for Frank J. Sible

FRANK JOSEPH SIBLE, 79, of 25 Old Cheshire Road, Lanesborough, and a
former long-time resident of Pittsfield, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, June 10, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield, January 17, 1930, a son of Richard H. and Ruth E. Mallison
Sible, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1948 graduate of Pittsfield High
School. A Korean War veteran, he served with the United States Army from November
1951 to October l953, and then served with the United States Army Reserve until February 1960.
Mr. Sible was employed by R.M. O'Connell, Inc. in Pittsfield for 34 years where
he was Operations Supervisor. He retired in 2000 and then continued to work there
part-time. Prior to going to O'Connell's, he was employed at the former Frank E. Gogan Oil of Pittsfield.He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Mr. Sible was active with the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Pittsfield American Legion.
He enjoyed cars and traveling. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's school and sporting events.
His wife, the former Mary T. Richards, whom he married January 17, 1959, in
New Lebanon, New York, died May 24, 1993.
Mr. Sible is survived by two daughters, Beth A. Wallace and her husband, Jeffrey,
of Pittsfield and Lori A. Kays and her husband, Jack of Pittsfield; two brothers, Richard
Sible and his wife, Jean of Pittsfield, Earl Gogan and his wife, Joanne of Lanesborough;
His companion, Marianne Leslie of Lanesborough, and her sons, Kirk Leslie, Sr. and his
wife, Barbara, and Brian Leslie and his wife, Ann. He also leaves his nine grandchildren,
Joseph M. Pravia, Jacquelyne Kays, Michael Kays, Joshua Wallace, Lindsay Beraldi,
Michaela Leslie, Erin Leslie, Christopher Bernard, and Kirk Leslie, Jr.; and two great
grandchildren, Patrick Wallace and Leah Beraldi;

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for FRANK JOSEPH SIBLE, who died Wednesday, June 10,
will be Monday, June 15, at 9:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy
of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m, at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by Rev. James K.
Joyce, Pastor. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling
hours will be Sunday, June 14, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of
flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Sible may be made to the Pittsfield Fourth of
July Parade Committee in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
